Campaign
National Grid have extended the consultation period and provided more information with a view to discussing the project in more detail. They are therefore inviting further questions and feedback.
Take a look at the resources page for the latest links to the National Grid’s website and Route Corridor Study.
What do we want to happen?
- Send a letter to National Grid.
Here's a sample letter from our original campaign: Word document or PDF document

zoom inView towards Wraxall - SPOILT - If you have already sent a letter and not received a reply, take your letter along to one of their ‘drop-in’ sessions and ask for a proper answer .
- Save Our Valley want thousands of people from our area to continue telling National Grid that they cannot surround our community with power lines.
- National Grid believes they have responded to questions regarding alternative solutions. Cost is their main argument for not considering these options but we must argue that this should not be the final determinant.
- Adding more pylons to the South & East of Nailsea must NOT be an option. Corridor 2 must be rejected outright.
- Nailsea’s western edge has two sets of pylons – built in 1933 and 1958. If (and ONLY IF) it can be proved that the undersea and underground routes are not viable and Corridor 1 has to be used, then National Grid, in conjunction with Western Power, must realign existing pylons so that all power lines are moved well away from existing housing.
